Johnny Clark had a
strange day. He unloaded slow, got fast and then slowed down again in the feature. But, he
still finished fourth despite the roller coaster day. I dont really understand what happened today, said Clark.
We had a horrible car in practice and then we bolted on sticker tires in time trials
and we spanked them on the first lap. I dont really get it. We got the pole by half
a tenth on the first lap.
We drew number one and started on the pole in
the dash and we won that. We thought that we had an awesome car for the feature, but about
15 laps in it got real tight and then it was so loose that I couldnt even drive it.
Its got to be something wrong. Im going to take the shocks off and see.
Clark gives the PASSers high marks for putting on a close and clean race in front of the
White Mountain crowd. Especially given the fact that there have been several high profile
incidents and accidents this season.
Im sure that Tom [Mayberry - promoter] and Paul [Johnson technical
director] were happy with this performance. I feel like we havent been putting on a
very good show for the past month. That was a pretty clean race and everyone was giving
and taking. The race played out like it should have. I didnt have a top three car
and we didnt finish in the top three, so well take it.
